On Friday, November 5, Mudbound by Hillary Jordan will be discussed and on Friday, December 3 also at 12:30 PM, the book under discussion is Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann..

Medicare Update

On Monday, September 27 at 1 PM, Jo Vaglio, Community Outreach Chairperson for Healthcare Financial Management answers ALL of your questions on Medicare Parts A, B, C and D!

Bereavement Group at the Library

Gather with social worker, Sonia Chaudry, for a monthly discussion on dealing with loss. Upcoming meetings are Wednesdays, October 13, November 10 and December 8, 11 AM - 1 PM.

The Knitting and Crochet Club

The Bellmore Memorial Library hosts a knitting and crochet club on the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM. Upcoming meetings are October 21, November 18 and December 16 from 7 -9 PM. Alice Dictor, local resident and volunteer will teach you how to begin and other expert crafters invite you to exchange tips & tricks while our needles fly!

Nassau Poets meet at the Bellmore Memorial Library

Lorraine Conlin hosts guest poet, Gladys Henderson on Tuesday, September 28 at 7 PM with an open mic to follow. Nassau Poets meet at the Bellmore Memorial Library on the last Tuesday of every month. On Tuesday, October 26 Russ Green will read from his work and on Tuesday, November 30, it's Samantha Barrow. Join us!

Island Songwriters Showcase at the Bellmore Memorial Library

Hosted by Estelle Henrich and Mike Svezia, Island Songwriters meet on Monday, September 27, Monday, October 25 and Monday, November 29 at 7 PM. In September the featured songwriters are Lois Morton, Vin Gangi and Tornado Alley, in October, it's Dave Anthony, Frank Gambino and Mike Svezia and in November, meet Mark Hussey, Estelle Hendrich and Hank Stone. Open mic follows featured songwriters. Join us for a lively evening of musical fun!

Thursday, September 23 at 7 PM Google Apps
This intermediate hands-on class will teach you how to create a gmail account, learn about Google Calendar, office suite, web applications and much more.

Wednesday, November 3 at 7 PM Video Editing
In this hands-on class, learn how to combine and edit your videos; keep the parts you want and remove the rest. understand timelines; add effects, transitions and text, overlay music and sound. Create a YouTube account and upload your movie.

Thursday, November 4 at 10 AM Intro to Computers
This is a slow-paced, user-friendly hands-on workshop for first-time computer users. You will learn how to turn the computer on, the Windows desktop, using the mouse, opening programs, inputting text, saving a file and turning the computer off.

Please register for these classes at the reference desk; priority is given to Bellmore cardholders until two weeks before the program. These classes fill up quickly and registration is essential.
